Amazon Worker Rally
An Amazon worker rally took place in downtown Seattle this past Saturday March 25th. Workers flew in from the largest Amazon air hub in Kentucky to rally for their demands of increased pay and increased time off benefits.
The rally, which took place at the corporate headquarters of Amazon, comes as part of a national unionization organizational effort by Amazon employees across the country. The rally organizers accused Amazon of intimidation, termination of employees, and other union busting tactics over the loud speakers.
Many workers across different industries have been vocal about wages not keeping up with cost of food, gasoline, and rent. Other than the group of Amazon employees that flew in from Kentucky, it was unclear how many people in the rally worked for the company here in Seattle.
