Before dawn, the Emerald City Dispatch wandered through Fall City, Snoqualmie, and North Bend to take in the eerie stillness of the towns David Lynch transformed into Twin Peaks. His vision turned them into an otherworldly place where dreams and reality blur. Decades later, people still come to Twin Peaks, searching for that elusive feeling of mystery and wonder in a place that is both wonderful and strange. As the sun came up, hundreds of fans and locals gathered to honor the life of David Lynch at a memorial. Many shared emotional stories of how his work had shaped their lives and recalled moments they had met him. We felt the weight of losing such an original artist, and just how much he meant to everyone in the room. Though he is gone, his spirit will live on forever in these towns and in the people he inspired. Through these photographs, we explore the lingering presence of his world.
